The most common game modes involve the Terrorists planting a bomb while Counter-Terrorists attempt to stop them, or Counter-Terrorists attempting to rescue hostages that the Terrorists have captured. Originally, the German version of the game had the low violence enabled prior to the games full retail release. This feature however, can be re enabled by typing -lv in the launch options and can still be used in any game mode. A cross-platform feature was planned, but remains unreleased to maintain the integrity and stability of the PC release. Many weapons in the public beta reused Counter-Strike: Source animations. All weapons had different models, animations and sounds before the final release.
